Pretend Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist

Pretend Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist

There’s a simple fact of life that none of us can escape…the end of it.

No matter how rich, poor, healthy, sick or stubborn you may be, we all have to say sayonara at some point or another. With that in mind, I propose a simple experiment: Just for today, pretend that tomorrow doesn’t exist. Given the times we’re living in, with so many people dying, this might feel a little too possible. Breathe deeply three times and let all that go. This is an exercise.

If this were your last day on Earth, what would you do? How would you spend it? Who would you call and what would you say?

Will you take the day off and head to the museum? Sing at the top of your lungs in a crowded elevator? Will you laugh with your kids at the zoo? Spend the day painting at a villa in the country? Maybe get in some frisky time with your beloved like a couple of fresh-faced newlyweds? The options are almost infinite…how would you choose to spend your last 24 hours?

With or without this little experiment, the truth is, tomorrow is promised to no one.

Do you want a life filled with regrets, questionable choices, settling for the easy option, or waiting until “the right time”? Or do you want to live a rich, fulfilling adventure that your children will speak of for decades to come?

Don’t worry, I know the prospect of planning out a whole new life can be a bit overwhelming. That’s why you only have to think about today.

What will you do, TODAY, to make sure that yours is a life well lived?
